In a Shower of Gold

Orchard (For Keats)

Cerise Sky

The use of texture in these images creates another layer to the work. The way the textures interact relates well to the textures created by the glass bottles and light.

The use of layers and the idea of having a colour inside a colour creates really interesting compositions

The White Room

Composition as Explanation

The layering and placement of colours in these images works really well. The different proportions of colour creates interesting compositions.

Mark Rothko

I am going to use Mark Rothko's use of colour and layout to inspire my images. The rule of thirds and the division into two are strong compositional elements in these works. The painterly effect adds another quality to these images.

Third Shoot

After seeing some glass bottles in my room I decided to go back to the original idea of placing objects in a particular order and photographing shadows but this time photographing the textures created by the light.

Second Shoot

I played around with directional light on fruit. The kiwifruit worked quite well as the light highlighted the green in the fruit. Again though I don't see how this is going to work as a concept.
